Sometimes you find an app that is a book, is interactive, and has a very well developed storyline. The Day The Music Stopped by the Juno Company is one of those apps. I am sure we still haven’t figured out everything this app has to offer nor have we made it to the end of the story!
The Day The Music Stopped by the Juno Company looks like a typical story book until you get in there and start reading. It has the usual book qualities–narration, click-able pictures, and great graphics, but then it also has a video to take you into the story, a sort of puzzle to figure out and problem to solve. At times it is a bit over my four year old’s head, but with a little assistance from my ten year old we get right back on track.
If you use your iPad as a children’s book replacement like we do then The Day The Music Stopped by the Juno Company is certainly a must have.
Can your child be locked in their room (or closet if you must) with the app and you ignore them? No. But you aren’t reading this because you are a parent who would do something. You are a parent who is involved with your child’s development and you are there to assist when your child needs it! Good for you.
There are a couple mini games in the app as well that your child can play if they grow tired of reading or the story. Overall an app packed with value.
