Fox In Socks – Dr. Seuss By Oceanhouse Media

  • January 31, 2011 7:22 am

Fox In Socks – Dr. Seuss By Oceanhouse Media is one of several books we have read from the same publisher. These are always very well done and a real eye catcher for the kids. My three year old-almost four year old-loves to have the book read to her. She is starting on her first words herself–she knows the r-e-d song. This book lets her read along, guess at the words as she memorizes them. These are called sight words since your young one will learn them by sight.

It is the classic you remember. It is fun to read and fun to learn. Clicking on socks never gets old. Check out the video:

Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure by Nickelodeon

  • January 24, 2011 7:21 am

Dora’s Christmas Carol Adventure by Nickelodeon has really captured the attention of my three year old. She spends a lot of time in this app and I hear her finding new adventures each day. I wish we had gotten this app much more before Christmas, but it is still relevant since kids like to think about Christmas all year long.

The adventures are neat and not too hard for my 3 year old to take care of on her own.

Total – 14 outstanding!

Fun with Thandros by Thandros Media

  • January 17, 2011 7:14 am

Fun with Thandros by Thandros Media is a neat app for kids where they can interact with a friendly robot. I am confident we have not yet found all the things you can do in this app, but my 3 year old’s favorites are the story time where you can pick your own adventure and twins. She sneaks into the “under 3″ section every once in a while too.

This app needs a bit of guidance from the parent, so be prepared to help out a bit, but it is a fun and interesting app.

Total 10. Not bad for a fun app that covers a lot of ages!

Nusery Rhyme Singalong by WookSoft

  • January 10, 2011 3:58 pm

Nusery Rhyme Singalong by WookSoft is a simple app that has about 15 preloaded songs for you and your child to, well, sing a long with. The interface is simple enough for a young child to figure out and the screen has some motion to keep your child interested while the song is playing. I would recommend the app for back seat rides for sure.

Total – 13. It really is an app designed for a bit of learning, but more attention. Good job!

Surf Creatures by Shaun Tomson

Apparently Shaun Tomson is a surfing legend. He also lost his son in 2000 and has a new young one named Luke. Good for you Shaun. Shaun took the inspiration he got from his children and wrote Surf Creatures. A nice app exploring the ocean the animals that live within.

Kaylin sure likes the app, although some of the creatures are scary, and some are nice. I like that it has a play mode where the book is read to you and that I can turn that off if I want to narrate myself. Goo on ya Shaun.

Total 16 – great job.
